Editor and Director of Distributed Reporting
NewAssignment.Net is an NYU journalism project led by Jay Rosen. It is an experiment in open source journalism, to find ways for news organizations to work on the emerging art of networked journalism.
As editor I am responsible for creating and editing daily content for the blog.
As Director of Distributed Reporting I helped to develop the first project, Assignment Zero, using the content management system Drupal, to help test the theory of network journalism.
Netscape
Expert Social Bookmarker, January 2007 to Present
After becoming a top 50 contributor to Digg I was hired by Netscape as an "expert social bookmarker."
I submit links to news stories, engage and monitor the community and make sure that Netscape's home page remains dynamic and up to date.
Navigators also consult on how Netscape can shape itself for the future of Web 2.0.

Contributed content directly to Wired News as a freelancer, pitching stories and working under deadlines
Compiled business briefs that appeared daily on the front page of www.wired.com. This involves researching current and relevant AP stories, editing them for content and copy and loading them into Wired’s Internet tool. In addition to this I assembled the “Rants and Raves” that appeared daily on the website.
Responsible for picking the “Elsewhere Today” section of Wired; an important tool that links viewers to other trustworthy and timely tech news stories

Extracurricular Activities
Order of the Golden Bear, Member and Council Member
One of the oldest organizations at U.C. Berkeley, students are brought in as lifetime members after demonstrating leadership that improves the campus community. I was brought in for my work with student publications. I was also a member of the council responsible for planning future meetings, events, and discussion topics.
